After four weeks on this Earth, most of it spent at Children's Hospital of Orange County doing battle with high-frequency oscillator-ventilators and spinal taps and MRI machines and even diaper rash, the bravest baby in the world has finally come home. To Long Beach. To the Gaslin house, to his room, to his family.
Zev is home.
The little boy who had us so scared one month ago is now sleeping in his own crib, breathing a tiny trickle of oxygen (the last of what were, at one point, forty-some-odd tubes) until his lungs rebound more. But, as you can tell, he's listened to you. He's heard everyone who's asked about, and talked about, and thought about him through these tough weeks. And you can see it in those eyes, can't you? Zev saying, Thank you, everyone. I wouldn't be here without you.
Now, have a look.
to quote a previous and overwhelmingly apt entry: WOOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOO!!! the grand high supreme rockstar zev has finally made his much-anticipated long beach appearance, and the masses are rejoicing. WELCOME HOME, ZEV O GREAT AND ALMOST RIDICULOUSLY BRAVE BABY! we can't wait to come and say hi!
glenn and mayrav, why are we not at all surprised he's such a brave kid? he's got brave, fabulous parents. congratulations, guys, we love you.

Hi Everyone,
Christopher said that he saw Zev for the first time this weekend. Eight pounds already! I always told Christopher that he would never know how much I loved him until he had a child. Now you know how much your parents love you.
Love
Carol
